Lisa Ling

As the field correspondent for The Oprah Winfrey Show and contributor to ABCNews' Nightline and National Geographic’s Explorer, Lisa Ling has reported from dozens of countries; covering stories about gang rape in the Congo, bride burning in India and the Lord's Resistance Army in Uganda, among other issues that are too often ignored. Ms. Ling got her start in journalism as a correspondent for Channel One News where she covered the civil war in Afghanistan at 21 years of age. She later went on to become a co-host of ABC's hit show The View, which won its first daytime Emmy during her time at the show. In 2010, Ms. Ling will have her own series on the new channel, OWN: the Oprah Winfrey Network.

Ali Velshi

W. Brett Wilson

A Canadian entrepreneur, philanthropist, and panelist on CBC’s hit show Dragons’ Den, in 1993 Wilson co-founded FirstEnergy Capital Corp., a brokerage firm that provides investment-banking services to Canada’s oil and gas sector. FirstEnergy is an industry leader, having participated in thousands of financing and M&A projects worth over $200 billion since inception. As Managing Director & Chairman of FirstEnergy, Brett helped set standards for both business excellence and community giving, and has received wide recognition for both. In late 2008, he was selected as Alberta Venture’s Business Person of the Year. Wilson stepped down from active duty with FirstEnergy in 2007, and formerly retired as Managing Director and Chairman in December of 2008. He remains a director of the firm. His primary role now is Chairman of Prairie Merchant Corporation, a private merchant bank focused on business opportunities in the energy, agriculture, real estate, sports, and entertainment industries. William Danko

After 31 years on the marketing faculty – nine as chair – Bill Danko achieved emeritus status in 2007 at the School of Business, State University of New York at Albany. During his tenure, he studied consumer behavior, and in particular the topic of wealth formation. He is the co-author of The Millionaire Next Door, a research-based book about wealth in America that has been ranked as a bestseller by The New York Times for more than three years. His academic publications have appeared in the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Advertising Research, and other leading journals.
